You know, to make it easier on you when you have to reinstall, if you keep all your downloaded material on a separate HDD, and when you install a program, install it to a separate HDD, then when you have to reinstall your OS, you simply point to the original locations for those programs/games/etc. If it's not an unstable overclock, then the only thing that I can think of without further information, is to format and install Windows 7 RC7100 from scratch - installing Windows from a fresh format will cure *anything* that's not actually a hardware issue. (I've seen systems pass IBT and then fail 7 hours into Prime95 - hence using both) - but obviously only if you're overclocked. If you're overclocked, you may not be as stable as you think you are - I suggest running Intel Burn Test for at least 10 passes, followed by Prime95 for a 24 hour period. If you're only downloading something, be it an HD movie, a bunch of music, programs, or anything at all - none of that should have any impact on system performance at all, let alone enough to BSOD the system.something else is at fault here.
